Hayley is the founder of HALO Psychology, a consultancy using deep expertise in the field of psychology to improve organisational performance.
“Why HALO?” is a question Hayley has been asked by many people since she founded the business.
As well as the first three letters being the initials of her first, middle and last names; the word ‘halo’ evokes a sense of good.
And that’s what Hayley and her associates focus on – the inherent good in people across all sorts of organisations. There is absolutely no doubt that by tapping in to the very best strengths of a person or a team, an organisation can go from good to great.
Hayley is well known for getting things done and for being a trouble-shooter.
Her ability to cut through all the noise and quickly get to the heart of what is going on is one of the things that others have said sets Hayley apart.
Indeed, “laser focused” is a term that’s been used by many of her colleagues over the years when talking about Hay ley’sstrengths. This is why she has had so many brilliant opportunities to lead different types of services, from customer services, to strategic ICT, to communications and digital transformation. It’s also why I’ve been asked to help with organisational reviews by bodies such as the Local Government Association. You can check out Hayley’s LinkedIn profile if you want more detail.
Suffice to say, Hayley always had an interest in what makes people tick – from her first weekend job, whilst at school, to now.
Hayley has used her training as an organisational psychologist in the various leadership roles she has held and as a result, Hayley has had plenty of first-hand experience of applying psychological theory to a variety of real life situations.
The importance of giving something back.
Hayley has mentored many people over the past 20 years.
From newly qualified psychologists going into their first roles; to women looking to increase their confidence in the workplace; to managers looking to make the leap into a more senior role. Hayley will make as much time for mentoring as her diary allows and tend to have around three people she mentors for free at any one time.
In January 2015, Hayley founded Alchemy, a women’s professional network aimed at helping women from all sectors and all walks of life to succeed in work and life. Several of the network have gone on to gain promotions and career opportunities all by helping each other.
A successful blend of practitioner and academic.
Since 2010, Hayley has lectureed at City University, London, on the Masters in Organisational Psychology – using my experience delivering multi-million pound services to bring psychological theory to life. I cover topics including developing leaders; how to deliver organisational change; organisational values; and power, politics and influence.
She also lectures at Kingston Business School and Coventry University on their Masters in Occupational and Business Psychology programmes. Her lectures include delivering successful organisational change; harnessing performance; and leadership development.
HALO is focused on and fascinated by the factors that enable high performance.
And ultimately, this is the foundation to all that HALO Psychology delivers.
Whether that’s with individuals, through executive coaching; teams, using the High Performing Team Snapshot © to develop a programme to take a team to the next level; or delivering a programme that helps HR and OD practitioners build on their skills to deliver major organisational change.
We’re also BIG on productivity and performance, sharing our knowledge of tools and techniques with our clients and through our materials (available on this website).
Hayley has received recognition for her work in leadership development, culture change, communications and digital transformation.
